Front disc brake kit for classic Fiat 500 and 126 | 4×98 bolt pattern
Pay attention to wheel compatibility: 4×98 bolt pattern
This front disc brake kit has a 4×98 mm wheel bolt pattern. Classic Fiat 500 and early series Fiat 126 wheels, however, have a 4×190 mm pattern: therefore, wheels with this bolt pattern cannot be mounted directly on the kit.
For installation, you must choose one of the following two solutions:
- Install wheels with a 4×98 pattern, which are compatible with the kit and the vehicle configuration.
- Keep the classic 4×190 pattern wheels by separately purchasing the appropriate 4×98 to 4×190 wheel adapter spacers. These are not simple spacers: they must adapt the different bolt pattern.
The adapters can be purchased separately: Pair of Fiat 500 and 126 adapter spacers.
Before purchasing, check your wheel bolt pattern and the compatibility of the kit, wheels, and adapters with your vehicle.
A disc brake kit for classic Fiat 500 and 126 models, specifically designed for vehicles like the Fiat 500, is an excellent way to improve your vehicle's braking performance.
This kit typically includes:
1. Brake discs: High-quality discs designed to offer better heat dissipation and superior performance compared to drum brakes.
2. Brake calipers: Calipers that ensure uniform pressure on the discs, improving braking effectiveness.
3. Steering knuckles: Designed to fit the suspension arms of the Fiat 500. The kit features a 4×98 wheel bolt pattern; to use classic 4×190 pattern wheels, the appropriate adapter spacers are required, which can be purchased separately.
Installation is generally considered easy, with clear instructions included in the kit. It is advisable to have a minimum level of mechanical skill and, if necessary, consult a professional to ensure it is performed correctly. It is also always best to verify that the product is compatible with your specific Fiat 500 or 126 configuration.
Make sure to follow the manufacturer's guidelines for the maintenance and care of the disc brakes to maximize safety and longevity!
